Leading worship and preaching today is Pastor Emeritus, Richard Campbell.  Dick retired from Saint Matthew's in 2004 and currently serves Thrivent Financial for Lutherans as Southeast Region Congregational Relationship Manager.

If you desire prayer for any reason, our Prayer Partners will receive you in the Chapel after you have communed.

Pastor George Moore will be signed his book on Luke in the Fellowship Room at 10:00 am.

XYZ Day Trip on Wednesday, June 17: We have a few more seats available for our day trip to Blackville & Aiken, SC. Check the XYZ Board or the June Messenger for full details. All adults 55 & over are invited. For reservation call Irene Bennett at the church office at 723-1611, Ext. 29.

XYZ 3rd Quarter “Lunch, Listen & Learn” on Wednesday, July 1: We will have a day trip to Walterboro for our quarterly “Lunch, Listen & Learn: program and a tour of the SC Artisan Center. Check the XYZ Board or the June Messenger for information. Cost for motorcoach transportation, the LLL program and tour is $30.00 per person. Providing your own transportation, the LLL program and tour is $10.00. Make checks payable to Saint Matthew’s Adults and mail to the office c/o Irene Bennett or leave in Irene’s box in the office.

Tickets for the
WELCA Semi-Annual Meeting and Luncheon on Wednesday, July 8th will be on sale between services beginning June 14th. Members of Circle 4 will be in the courtyard Sundays, June 14, 21, 28 & July 5. Cost: $10 per person. Come join us and learn more about Martin Luther and his life in the church. The food for the luncheon will be delicious. There will also be live music and door prizes. All members and friends of Saint Matthew’s are invited to attend. Don’t miss this experience with your dear friends and new acquaintances. Needed: Someone to coordinate the Lay Readers for Sunday services. Dee Henn is retiring from this position and we are looking for a person to step into this ministry. If you would be willing to help, please contact Sandy Yohman, chair of the Worship Board or Debarah Harbuck in the church office.

FYI: The church office is open Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Messages left on voicemail after hours will be answered the next business day.

There is a Mother’s Lounge available to use anytime.
Room 201 in the Education Building located at the top of the steps by the Vanderhorst Street door is now available with rocking chairs and a changing table.

Child Protection

All volunteers (including youth) for VBS need to complete required paperwork to comply with the policy. Forms are available in the Education hallway. Adults only must also complete the Stewards of Children training. The training is available online! Once you begin the online program, you have two weeks to complete it. To sign up for the Stewards of Children online training, contact Debarah Harbuck, Parish Secretary, (723-1611 ext. 16) to get Saint Matthew’s Log in ID and password. Shepherd Ministry

The purpose of the St. Matthew’s Shepherd Ministry is to create, maintain and sustain loving and caring relationships within the life of our church family. We need your help in updating names, addresses and phone numbers of members. Please inform the church office if any contact information has changed. If anyone in the congregation has not been contacted by their Shepherd, please call the Shepherd Leader, Janelle Othersen.

LUTHEROAD DAY CAMP COMES TO MARTIN LUTHER CHURCH.
Camp is coming to Martin Luther Church
June 28 – July 3, 2009

To Tanzania with Love…a dinner to honor our friends in Tanzania..Tickets available TODAY!

On Sunday, June 14, St. Matthew’s members and friends will gather at 6:30PM for an elegant evening of dining, entertainment, and information as we raise funds to send To Tanzania with Love for the Clinic in Magoye. Dinner will be prepared by Hamby Catering and served by the youth. Tickets are $30 for adults and $5 for children.
Children will have their own menu and program in Room 101 with our nursery workers. Tickets are available between services today in the Courtyard. Seating is limited, so be sure to get your ticket today.

Help us fill the “Clinic Wall” in the Auditorium with bandaids by June 14! We’ll add a bandaid with your name and/or name of a loved one for a donation of any amount. Offering envelopes are available in the Narthex and Education Hallway. All donations will be listed in the program at the dinner and in the bulletin on June 21.
